Dr. Argento is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. She also moderates WiIP’s Welcome Home Sessions.
Katarine Egressy, MD, MPH specializes in caring for patients with diseases of the lungs and airways. As a pulmonologist and critical care physician, she diagnoses and treats cancer, pneumonia, pleural disease, pulmonary hypertension, asthma, occupational and environmental diseases, bronchitis, sleep disorders, emphysema and other complex disorders of the lungs. She also works in an intensive care medical unit taking care of patients requiring mechanical ventilation support, ECMO support and intensive interventions.
Dr. Egressy was born in Lviv, Ukraine, and grew up in Richmond, VA. She graduated from Duke University and finished medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Before joining UVA Health in 2021, she worked at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, an academic health system in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Her interests include lung cancer screening, lung nodules, and healthcare delivery in underserved areas. She completed her MPH program from University of Valencia, Spain with the master thesis in Global Health.
